It is not tho. Everywhere she goes she is like "we did it in one take" "we sang live most of the songs" "it was so hard" "I practiced tap-dancing for months" "I did Broadway b/c I was afraid of singing" and many more stuff similar to these. You should maybe watch some of her interviews.

So the names mentioned by at least one of the major critics' groups (NSFC, NYFCC, LAFCA, NBR):
Huppert dominating, then adams, hall, bening, huller.
It is notable that neither of the frontrunners were that loved by the ones whose awards actually mean something in and of themselves (as opposed to just something one could add to a Metacritic scoreboard and that's about it).
Both Huppert and Ali took NSFC + NYFCC + LAFCA.

Doesn't affect the Oscar outcome much, but I'm surprised the top groups ignored Davis altogether and got through a total of 3 names.
Michelle Williams - NY Winner, NSFC Winner, LA runner-up
Lily Gladstone - LA Winner, NSFC co-runner-up
Naomie Harris - NBR Winner, NSFC co-runner-up
At least Michelle can build up her overdue narrative for another year.
Performances that took 3 or 4 of NSFC/NY/LA/NBR:
16 Isabelle Huppert, Casey Affleck, Mahershala Ali
14 Patricia Arquette**, JK Simmons**
13 Cate Blanchett**
11 Jessica Chastain
9 Mo’Nique**, Christoph Waltz**
8 Sally HawkinsXX, Penelope Cruz**, Sean Penn**
7 Julie Christie, Amy Ryan, Daniel Day-Lewis**
Hmm, between 2010-2013 only two got at least 3 wins. And this year alone three people did. Back to the more consensus-y times of the late 2000s I suppose.

Do you guys think Denzel can snatch? Been reading some websites and even tho Casey won critics some think daddy Denzel can snatch the televised ones. I can give my opinion on those cuz I haven't watched any of those.
I still wish trevante would get some love too but it's true what they say about mahershala u want him back in the movie.

I saw Kubo yesterday, def oscar worthy, I'd still say Your Name is the best though. Your Name > Kubo > Zootopia > Moana..I also saw Toni Erdmann, it's def better than Elle, more consistent without crackpot plots

Just saw Hidden Figures, it was SO good! Such an inspiring & captivating movie. Octavia is going to get an Oscar nomination, but I would love for Janelle Monae to get one too. Taraji was great, but she has no shot.

Janelle was a revelation coming out of nowhere and snatching now one but two of the most acclaimed movies of the year

Casey is definitely snatching tomorrow night. I liked Denzel in Fences but he has almost no buzz.
__
I still have to see 20th Century Women and I think I'm going to skip Silence because I heard it was boring af
And I just realized the forum will be down when the award show takes place

Same. I literally just walked in from Hidden Figures. I feel so uplifted and motivated. The theater was sold out. There wasn't a dry eye in that theater and applause broke out at the end. What a "feel-good" movie!
I would love to see it get a Best Picture nomination. I would also be very happy if Taraji, Janelle, and Octavia get in, but the latter seems to be the only one with a strong shot.

People worried about Denzel and it's Deadpool that wants to upset Casey.
