I wouldn't be mad if "Manchester By The Sea" wins 'Best Picture'.
Yes, it seems like the safe and typical movie that the Oscars would choose, but apparently it's really really good.
Wait, you haven't seen it and you wouldn't be mad? I loved it but don't think it deserves BP. I'd be happier if Fences won.
Just because Manchester is a bunch of white people doesn't mean it's a safe movie. It's a horrifyingly depressing movie about people that will never move on and never find happiness again.

Well most of the Oscar movies only get released in late January/February here in Germany, so my opinion is entirely based on reviews and trailers/clips.
I mentioned MBTS cause so many people on Twitter dislike it or call it a "white movie for white people" and I disagree cause so many reviews say that it is much much more than that.
Someone asked earlier, but yeah I've seen Miss Sloane. Jessica is stellar as usual, it's not a super showy role, though. More in line with her Zero Dark Thirty character, but even more understated. Speaking of, let me remind everyone of what a tragedy it was that Jessica lost to JLaw for SLP.
I'm surprised at Ryan Reynolds and all the love he is receiving for Deadpool..superheroes don't get love at all like that during the awards season. I doubt he'll get a Oscar nom, but he might snatch the GG from Ryan Gosling.

Jessica Chastain is one of my favorite actresses. I'm not sure why she gets overlooked(especially that one year she had 4 movies out and not one nomination). I haven't seen Miss Sloane yet(I'm going too).
And yes, it was a tragedy that she lost to JLaw for SJP..JLaw wasn't all that in the movie..and the movie wasn't all that either.
"would barely cover the cocaine costs on most studio films" .
Tbh I eye-rolled when he cited cancer and kids during the Critics Choice Awards. However can't blame him to milk it as much as he can, LIFE looks like a bomb
I watched American Honey last night and I am shook! Honestly speaking this film deserves more recognition than what it is getting. Sasha Lane is a revelation. If I am not a casual moviegoer I would honestly think she is Rihanna We Found Love ha promo tho
Fences was amazing. The directing wasn't that great, but the picture was stunning. It was really Viola's movie, whew. It was definitely better than Arrival for me. I hate those Nolan-esque films like Interstellar, Inception, etc. that rely more on mind****s than stories about the human condition.

STAN for the greatest movie of the year! no other film this year comes close to its quality tbh
What's more tragique is that she did not win that year The Academy must have decided she's not ONE of the best actresses that year
Omg I read the latter as thug and it says shug lmfao. I googled it and it was it created some controversy and that her character was articulate and didn't even talk like that.
