Even though this isn't fully Mimi's fault, this is the first time I've been embarrassed to be a lamb. Haters and even people who aren't that familiar with her are going IN I need my Queen to do something spectacular like a comeback in the near future that will overshadow this mess
It's getting messy and people are going after her for no reason
I'm coming back to the base in this time of crisis to say Mariah is a ****ing legend and all the people who
are trashing her today will be back to riding her dick when Emancipation 2.0 comes out in Q4
I was out during the performance so I saw all the backlash on social media before I saw the actual perf, and my gut reaction was that it's been way overhyped. It looks messy af, obviously, but it's not like she was lipping and got caught. It's that she did NOTHING because she was relying on lipping and the technical difficulties prevented that from being done right. The "Milli Vanilli" comments are so stupid; MC slayed her live vocals for decades, which is a very different story from MV.
The issue I personally have with the ordeal is that when she realized the difficulties, she SHOULD HAVE been able to improvise better. It looked like she heard the music because she responded to certain cues (doing the dip, singing a couple background lines, etc.). Had she been prepared to sing live, she could have at least given a performance of some kind and not just been mute. But taking care of her voice has not been a priority of hers for a long time now, so she did the right thing and just did nothing. (I prefer silence to a bad vocal that gets the haters even more riled up.)
So overall, I think this is very overblown tbh, but I also think that the level of attention it's getting could be useful to team MC, as it may inspire Mariah or someone in charge (LA?) to intervene and get her image back on track. I'm not perched for that happening, because ultimately she'd need to prioritize her voice to truly regain respect from the GP and I simply think that's not her priority in life, but at least this provides the opportunity for her to reflect on how she wants 2017 to impact her legacy.
My only problem is that she seemed to give up and looked defeated.
Mariah is amazing, she has played things off before and kept the show moving. Sound and technical errors are out of her control, but the show must go on.
I am not embarrassed or ashamed of Mariah at all. It's in moments like this that my love for her grows deeper.
We know she has issues to fix and priorities to reorganise, but I hardly think that in this moment, when it seems like everyone is against her, that this is the time to harp on them. I just send her love, positivity and warm thoughts.
But yeah, people have written her off completely before. She will persevere in 2017.
This is very different than Glitter. During Glitter her commercial viability was being questioned. Now her artistic credibility is completely shattered. Literally only Lambs are sticking by her now. So many people have dragged her to me after the Rockefeller incident and nothing has changed since then. To be 100% honest Mariah's talent has vanished. She can no longer sing, theres no point in her continuing. She takes the whole thing as a joke. Look at Madonna, her voice has only gotten stronger, even JENNIFER LOPEZ'S vocals have improved over time and Mariah continues to ruin hers. She doesn't care and neither should we. At least Whitney had a drug problem. Whats Mariahs?
