Well, Britney Spears started at 17 years old with BOMT and literally ALL of her songs are solo

Would you look at that. The only song charting from Miley is 23, a song she is FEATURED on. Not even a lead with a feature like some of Ariana's.
If Miley is so memorable and Ariana isn't, why is Ariana's channel getting 11.747 million views a day while Miley's channel is getting 1.021 million views a day (the lowest in the top 50 most viewed channels besides Jason Derulo)?

Oh so a video that needed Miley to get success, cool.

Lets look at the stats shall we?
US iTunes:
#17 Side to Side (feat. Nicki Minaj)
#98 Side to Side (feat. Nicki Minaj)
#103 Into You
#116 Dangerous Woman
#547 Bang Bang (feat. Jessie J and Nicki Minaj)
#555 Let Me Love You
#786 Santa Tell Me
#991 Problem (feat. Iggy Azalea)
#1054 Break Free
#1072 One Last Time
#1106 Love Me Harder (feat. The Weeknd)
#1277 Focus
#1418 Be Alright
#583 Party In The USA
#746 The Climb
#1285 Wrecking Ball
Despite having so much power attached to her name apparently, all 5 singles from My Everything are still charting higher than Wrecking Ball, including her two solo singles from it and the 'flop' solo Focus is even higher
And don't let me bring up the YouTube stats, as for an 'iconic' video, Wrecking Ball getting only 100k views per day and predicted to hit 1B in four years is tragic, with Problem and Side to Side going to cross 1B by mid next year. Even if I don't compare it to Ariana due to her hits coming out later than Bangerz, many less iconic videos that came out before it are getting many more views per day, such as Diamonds, You Belong With Me and Roar which still getting over 1m per day.
I don't know about y'all, but I'd rather having successful features that are actually remembered and still have great streaming stats than a solo that soared high and then crashed
|
Oxygen sis, obviously Ari's songs are charting higher. She's in an era, coming off a Top 5 hit and all those songs were released after Miley's. When Miley will be in a successful era and Ari on break, Miley's old songs will be higher, so your argument is invalid
Also, Miley's videos weren't released in a time where streaming was as big. WB is also much more iconic than any Ari video. I mean EVERYONE was talking about it.
PITUSA is a classic, and right now I can't say Ari has one.

And she was just a main judge on The Voice, she has been in the public eye even more than Ariana has been but whatever

Ariana is much more in the public eye than Miley right now

I do understand your point, thats why I brought in other songs that were released around Wrecking Ball that are selling better and streaming better.
And its no ones fault but Miley's that her songs are slowly being forgotten and getting tragic recurring stats for not releasing any music for a long time. I think until she releases her next pop album, it is unfair to compare the two due to it being a different climate than it was during Bangerz

The fact that you tried to sneak in songs released this year from the DW era to make Ariana's stats look better.

Next week Ariana will surpass Miley for total weeks in the Hot 100 top 10. I don't see Shawn or Charlie doing that with Bieber.

I agree that Wrecking Ball was iconic, I've been saying it was every post I've made, that doesn't negate its tragic daily views while many videos that were released around the same point in time are getting better daily views while not even being that artists most iconic video.
And PITUSA is definitely a classic, its one of the best songs Miley has released

I didn't try to sneak in anything, I just posted every song that was charting, taking out all the songs she is featured on. My main point was the My Everything singles, I meant to bold them

With far more released/promoted singles and features. This number is meaningless.

Miley has singles off four albums, an EP, and even five Hannah Montana albums? Ariana is halfway through her third album? What are you talking about lmao?

2016 YEAR-END CHARTS:
Dangerous Woman
#35 - Radio Songs
#36 - Digital Songs
Into You
#55 - Radio Songs
#41 - Streaming Songs
Side To Side
N/A - Radio Songs
#58 - Streaming Songs
And it's not Ariana's fault her songs get great callout scores.

lies, at least for DW era. Didn't Into You debut at the bottom

No, it was near the bottom and it ended up riding the middle of the pack after that. That explains why it obviously didn't do as well on radio though. Dangerous Woman and Side To Side had great callout scores and did a lot better. Still, Ariana generally does well on radio because people want to hear her. And her radio play isn't disproportionate to her sales and streams.
