Selena just started her solo career in 2013, since then, she has been able to get top 10's by herself. So there's still time to see. Also Ariana began her career in 2013. She still needs time to make her name be power enough for big hits. Some had a luck to build success on something else. At least Selena and Ariana worked harder.

A feature is a feature, whoever is more or less relevant than the lead artist is still a collaboration. And I don't see why "solo" songs are "more value" than "duet" songs.

Ariana gave Zedd, Jessie J, and Mac Miller their highest peaking singles. She had given Iggy and The Weeknd their highest peaking singles when Problem and Love Me Harder were released. And Zedd, Iggy, and Mac have never had solo top 40 while Ariana has multiple solo top 10s.

Ariana doesn't have a bunch of features because she needs to. She does by choice. The first four singles off My Everything were features. They still would have been hits without the features. One Last Time just barely missed the top 10 despite being a fifth single.

So Foxes was the reason that Clarity became a hit and is still played to this day? Don't try and discredit Zedd. Zedd can't even technically get a solo hit when he's a PRODUCER and the vocalists on his singles are always credited

Miley has 3 top 10 hits (and 2 top 5 hits) from 15 singles released this decade
Ariana has 8 top 10 hits (and 4 top 5 hits) from 18 singles released this decade
Selena has 6 top 10 hits (and 2 top 5 hits) from 11 singles released this decade

Both Ariana and Selena have top 10 hits that are features. That doesn't take away from their ability to get solo hits considering they don't collaborate with big name artists and have very consistent singles success unlike Miley. I would argue that they have been winning against Miley this decade. Almost all of Miley's hits are from the Hannah Montana days.
