People were desperate for a reason to vote against Hillary.
She calls racists deplorable while in the same speech asking people not to think of the WWC that's voting for Trump as deplorable and that we should sympathize with them ----> Media outrage and her loss of the WWC.
He calls Mexicans rapists and has his way with women on tape with no consent -----> Still wins white women vote and 30% of the hispanic vote.

Americans are so transparent. This is why we should keep nominating men until at least 2032.

But the 'Blue Wall' were battleground states. If you ignore 2008/2012 which is skewed because of how damn popular Obama was on a personal level, then you can see it slowly getting Redder and Redder. Kerry won Wisconsin by like 0.50%, and Clinton is more comparable on a personal level to Kerry than she is Obama. To not even go there is simply a joke and clearly she had a bad team. Likewise, Gore only won WI by 5k votes. It should never have been viewed as safe just because Obama slayed there.

Well even if what you say is true - does it reflect badly on Clinton? Does someone in PA, WI, MI suddenly want to vote Clinton because she's talking down people and calling them deplorable? I really don't think it helped her with them or people's perception on her.

But, as I said, if you look back at 2004 and 2000, the results in that 'Blue Wall' were really close. It was only Obama that really secured it again and that would be because he was Obama.

Dems are gonna have to fight to get it back, because I think naturally it is turning Red. Obama just prevented it from happening so quickly.

Wisconsin's Senate watchers told the team they needed back up, but alas...

Obama really spoiled us (not his fault) and DNC took blue spots too much for granted. I hope we start from the bottom up and get more towns on our side, we can't have metropolises doing all the work. It's already starting in Nevada where they're looking at how to expand the map past Clark and Washoe County.

True, Trump tapped into something PLUS voting laws were mostly but not fully struck down. Even the smallest roadblock can wreak havoc.

I remember posting articles that WI and Mi were getting whiter out of worry here. In retrospect, that worry was warranted.
We can either win back the WWC or find a way to get minorities to live there more and get out to vote.

hillary should have done a televised townhall with the people trump attacks and given them a voice. hillary was going down the right path with "she has a name/her name is alicia machado/and she's going to vote against trump"
that was a campaign highlight for her. that was when she was polling the highest.

america understood the racism trump puts out when there was a face applied to it. unfortunately events got overshadowed by things like emails and the campaign took a different turn.

I think you overestimate the amount people want to listen, personally. They don't want or have the time to sit listening to Clinton explaining why she's calling people deplorable or whatever.

But even he used 'Yes we can!' - it was enthusiastic and captured the tone of Obama's campaign perfectly. Clinton, in comparison? 'Stronger together'... c'mon, nah. Cute idea, but it wasn't a soundbite.

People laugh (probably rightly) at Make America Great Again. But it was effective. It worked.
