Medulla is so amazing to me. It's not my go-to Bjork album (like Homogenic, Vespertine and Vulnicura) but if I had to describe this album in one word it would be: humanity. It's so abstract yet as close as you can get to reality. I love it so much. Not my personal favourite tho, which makes it even more amazing to me. The fact that I can appreciate it even though I don't necessarily like it nn that sounds so shady but y'all know what I mean

I'm tempted to give Ancestors a 10 tbh - it's definitely higher than an 8, it kind of scares me tho
You know what? **** it! let me give it that 10. good sis did not make herself sound like a rabid animal for nothing

Tbh Bjork is not one of my top faves but I could honestly write an essay about Ancestors alone - she's just so fascinating to me.

aljgad I think I need to rethink some of these scores. I was so confused by Headphones. I thought it was one of my favourites from Post but I guess I hate it now? I still don't know if I like it or if I think it's god awful

oh no now I'm on Volta, wish me luck what makes Volta so bad (at least for me) is how I don't even enjoy listening to it, I don't know why but I just want to turn it off.

Lol I gave Immature a 7, it's not that bad Maybe it's just my Homogenic bias a;flagl tbh the way I've been scoring these songs has been so weird. Immature is definitely not a stand-out track tho.

Another thing that annoys me about Volta is how there are good songs underneath all of that mess. For example, I really love the last minute or so of Vertabrae by Vertabrae but I just cannot digest the entire song. I also notice a disconnect between Bjork and the music.

aljfahg I don't think "filler" is the right word but there are a couple of underwhelming tracks which is expected since Homogenic is full of masterpieces. I mean, All Neon Like is not on the same level as Joga and All Is Full Of Love

But to put things in perspective: the lowest score I gave to a Homogenic track was 5 for So Broken. I'll probably revisit a few scores tho, my averages for each album are so weird I don't think I'm being harsh enough.
Especially after seeing some of the averages in here .... akfjal

I will say tho that Vespertine is the more cohesive album - I could literally listen to its entirety without skipping ok maybe I would skip Sun In My Mouth but it's a short song anyway

I honestly don't remember listening to Pneumonia. After Vertebræ by Vertebræ, all of the songs just merge into one gloopy mess Volta really is tragic, I can't even be objective - I just don't want to listen to it The only tracks I remember are Vertebræ by Vertebræ (pretty good) and My Juvenile ()

Also, Bjork's voice just sounds so tired I'm glad Volta is - more or less - universally hated. I feel like Volta is a necessary point of reference to have in Bjork's discography as long as she doesn't serve another Volta, she can release whatever she wants tbh

Yeah, most of Bjork's bonus tracks are mediocre. Charlene, Atlantic, Komið and maybe Sod Off are the only ones that stand out. Alarm Call and 5 Years are AMAZING Immature is good but one of the weaker ones.

I feel like, for me anyways, the HIGHS in Homogenic are too high to the point where other songs don't match up to that standard. Vespertine has lower lows and more fillers than Homogenic but for some reason I can listen to Vespertine in full although Pagan Poetry destroys everything ka;gjag I LOVE that song

For example, I LOVE It's Not Up To You but it doesn't sound as good alone compared to when you listen to Vespertine from beginning to end. But I do agree, Homogenic probably has the best standalone tracks in her discography.

Anyway, for reference: I gave four Vespertine tracks a 10 whereas I gave none to Homogenic, although Homogenic does have my 11 which is probably obvious but that doesn't really prove anything because I only gave a few songs lower than a 5 I'll probably re-listen to all of the tracks and re-score them
