I am extremely aware but 4.1m is not an encouraging start. I do agree things could turn around, but this was supposed to be a MAJOR holiday release. Benjamin Button opened on a Thursday (it was Christmas Day but still) and delivered 11m, that adjusts to like 14m today. What makes the situation more dire than it would have been is that it has mixed word of mouth. And there's two other female-led sci-fi films in the marketplace with much better reviews and audience reactions.
It's not looking good and any box office analyst worth their salt knows it's true. It's time to stop the perfect delusion.
