Sure his death propelled it but the current political landscape and culture did the same thing with Lemonade so you could argue both of them received a critical push from things not necessarily related to music.

No way. Anti has a few cute bops, but it's extremely underwhelming and mundane. The fact that Same Ol' Mistakes is one of the best songs on the album and is barely a cover (same instrumental and you can still hear some of Kevin Parker's vocals) speaks volumes. Outside of Same Ol' Mistakes, not even the best song on Anti comes close to the majority of Lemonade sans a few.
