And what kind of slap on the wrist did the US get for its many, many rigged elections in the past? American exceptionalism needs to **** off.

The GOP were still elected though (inb4 popular vote111)
So I think to come to a compromise they would probably elect either Pence or another GOP

Mike Pence is less of a threat to international relations. I'm not sure I'd call him the lesser of the two evils here, as Pence is far more aggressively conservative, but I do think he's much less likely to cause any considerable long-term damage.
The fact that Trump seems to be trying to make enemies with China. Christ.

Pence is MUCH better than Trump even though he's trash. I trust him far more.

Nah.
In 2016, it was the basket of deplorables.

Those things will happen either way. Btw, it is still unproven whether he supported conversion camps.

and that's very very bad but at least there's very little chance he'll to cause irreparable harm to the nation
whatever archaic agendas Pence tries to push can eventually be reversed; international ties aren't so easily mended

Good point.

You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic -- you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people -- now 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks -- they are irredeemable, but thankfully they are not America."
"But the other basket -- and I know this because I see friends from all over America here -- I see friends from Florida and Georgia and South Carolina and Texas -- as well as, you know, New York and California -- but that other basket of people are people who feel that the government has let them down, the economy has let them down, nobody cares about them, nobody worries about what happens to their lives and their futures, and they're just desperate for change. It doesn't really even matter where it comes from. They don't buy everything he says, but he seems to hold out some hope that their lives will be different. They won't wake up and see their jobs disappear, lose a kid to heroin, feel like they're in a dead-end. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with as well."

No, the only "compromise" that works is for Obama to be president for four more years. That or Hillary.

I'm gay, but I am much more concerned about irreparable damage Trump can cause with our foreign relations than same-sex marriage becoming an issue once again.

This is the kind of thing the US pulls on smaller countries- influence their election to get the leader they think would best suit their agenda, or ally best with their interests elected.
The fact that Russia has now done that to the US, welp

Unless it comes out that Russia actually hacked the voting machines, the GOP still won regardless, so no.

There have already been errors found in the machines. We don't need Russian involvement to tell us that voting technology has to be updated. Furthermore, as you already brought up, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by nearly three million votes - a record-setting difference in the United States. We wouldn't have to worry about Russian involvement if the popular vote decided our elections, like it does in most civilized countries. Lastly, you're not an American citizen, so your input is unsolicited.

sweetie, we protested and voiced our concerns the past month. more and more of these stories came out and *STILL* nothing happens. they could uncover audio or video of putin and trump in bed together and nothing would happen. its gonna sound like a sci-fi movie, but it's all futile at this point we just gotta roll over and lube up
