I wonder if she goes on with the songs on the CD sticker becoming singles (PI, MR, Joanne, A-YO)
I mean, surely they must have been at least initially planned if they're on there.
I also think they're the ones with the most hit potential. Poor JW & DIC

Not a meltdown or me jumping ship, but just some thoughts.
Other than the Super Bowl and tour, I really have no more excitement for this era honestly. From the moment I heard Perfect Illusion, I had a weird feeling this era just wouldn't quite do it for me, and I was right - the fairly lowkey looks, more toned down attitude, and unrecognizably minimalistic and economical visuals just aren't my cup of tea. If I'm being completely honest, I was genuinely relieved when I heard the album and found that I loved it. (I do like Perfect Illusion as well FYI, it just left a weird taste in my mouth, so to speak, originally.) I think the most excited I've been this whole era (other than the pre-Perfect Illusion hype of course) was the VSFS because she finally served some looks there.
This sounds so overdone at this point, but the Lady Gaga that I started stanning for in 2008 is absolutely not the same Lady Gaga I'm stanning for in 2016, at least in terms of the art she's creating. While this is natural, what with maturation and the progression one goes through with the passage of time, the stark divide between the art of 2008-2014 Gaga and that of 2015-2016 Gaga is so divisive that they might as well be two different artists. This isn't inherently a bad thing - after all, artistic growth is a wonderful thing - but it's obvious why so many wouldn't be so fond of such drastic changes. To put it bluntly, it's basically not what they signed up for.
All this being said, I acknowledge that she's a human being and has the right to do whatever the **** she wants, even if her own fans may not love it as much as her previous endeavors. By the same token though, I have the right to not be as into the art she's releasing this era as I normally would be. At the very least, I have intense respect for her for doing exactly as she wants. Does this make me less of a stan? I don't think so personally, but I guess that's up to individual interpretation. She's still my #1 fave, and Joanne is ultimately my favorite album released in 2016. If I'm being 100% honest though, I do personally hope that she goes back to being Lady Gaga the pop artist next era. But, again if I'm being honest, I'll continue to be here either way.

Love this post post. Very mature and understanding tbh
But don't hold your breath sis. You certainly cannot be realistically waiting for Popart Gaga to come back man....She won't be coming back for at least another 3 to 4 years and idk if you can wait that long. She has the Joanne tour, multiple acting roles coming up, a soundtrack for a film with AC type of music (A Star Is Born) and she has the 2nd Cheek To Cheek album she promised Tony. Your only chance of seeing the Gaga that you fell in love with is possibly at the Superbowl and on her tour but that's it. I think it's time to let her go if that type of art is what you want because you will not be serviced that type of stuff anymore for a very very long time. Or just casually check up on her, casually stan her and in 4 years when she might give you the artist that you initially fell for then make a full blown comeback to stanning her!
Just saw the Royal Variety performance of Million Reasons SING
I wouldn't mind a proper album with an orchestral undertone on her next album
Or even an orchestral live album

That would slay!
Maybe for the A Star Is Born soundtrack that she is working on!
This is reminiscent of David Bowie's career when he retired Ziggy Stardust in 1973. He'd been touring for a year with practically no breaks. During that time he went from the half-forgotten guy who sang "Space Oddity" to an international superstar. His Ziggy character was a glam rock icon, and teenagers all across the world had his poster on their walls. Bowie's manager saw no reason to stop. He had plans to take Ziggy all over the globe in 1974, but Bowie had other plans.
His 'retirement' sent everyone (esp fans) into absolute hysterics and was deemed 'rock and roll suicide', and was front-page news all over England the following day. Everyone interpreted the statement to mean that he was retiring from music.
Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station and the Berlin Trio - Low, Heroes and Lodger subsequently followed.
Bowie 'returned' with artistic creativity and mainstream success with Scary Monsters and his biggest album, Let's Dance.
Gaga thinks about David every day. He is her muse and the biggest influence on her personal and professional life.
I honestly believe something happened during the development of the MR video. I mean I don't get how her stage production for the song has been rather flawless and capture the essence of the song, but the video is all over the place with scenes that seems more random than contributing. I know this is the album thread. But she is really top notch during her performances, same for how she presented John Wayne during VS. The MR video doesn't add up with the whole flow of it all. I hope the next video will put things more in perspective and put the era back on track in the visual department.

Nothing happened, its just that Gaga is surrounded by yes-people who dont know how to do their job, on top of that it seems like she is not even trying anymore. MR could have had so much better video, but she released one of the worst videos of 2016.

It's one chapter of a full-length story. Cost effective and to the point, joining Perfect Illusion and the next music video. We can't expect $550,000 budget videos. Interscope and Gaga herself have plans that will extend the Joanne era into 2018. It's December and the lead single was released in September. 4 months.
I'm always looking ahead, especially when I know that Gaga will still be releasing music in 2030 and I'll be 40 years old, still supporting her. I'm not overthinking the present, moaning and crying, and instead enjoying the moment and seeing what's next.
^
True, I don't expect high budget videos, but I am not too fond of the video, while I adored PI, I feel it could have been better executed. Anyways I adore the album, so I will just keep enjoying that and see whatever comes from it

Hopefully the next video is a bigger segment. Million Reasons is a promo-turned-single so a basic video for a ballad is what it deserves.
I'm SO here for more visuals and fashion with the next singles. A-YO, DH, JW, DIC etc. all deserve the works.
People would be upset more if she went all-out for a ballad and then served basic for A-YO
