It's one of the high points of her career - scratch that, it's one of the high points of pop music in the nineties. Janet may not have a technically profound voice, but she can be a great emotional communicator and Together Again is proof. I love the way she sings the line, "what I'd give just to hold you close / as on Earth / in Heaven we will be together baby." In that moment you actually hear bittersweet longing transform into hopeful jubilation, all because of how she sings it.

I love Janet's voice. Janet may not have the best voice, but she knows how to use her voice with harmonies and diverse it so she doesn't sound all monotoned like JLo.

but also, the soft moments are often underrated by fans and especially haters. It takes a special type of voice to restrain on something like TTWLG, not just anyone can pull off that sound. Someone like Beyoncé, for example, would undoubtedly oversing it and do TOO much, if that makes sense.

Also, I think Dammn Baby fits perfectly as one of the first songs on the album. It was a great way for her to announce that she's back, and I like how it's kinda about proving her doubters wrong. I agree that the vocal production is kinda tragic tho. On this remix tho, I think it sounds clearer, so idk if the stems exist somewhere or the remixer just edited what he had from the studio track.

The climax of "Lonely" before the final chorus, where the six Janets sing, "if you're lonely I will be THEREREREREREREEEEEE."

The extra harmonies and adlibs toward the end of "Unbreakable."

All of "You." There are at least 3 distinct vocal styles in it.

Obviously the climax of "Love Will Never Do," but maybe even moreso the transition from low to high in the verses, because it's so delightfully sudden.

The harmonies in "Twenty Foreplay." Absolutely gorgeous.

There are more I can't think of right now, will get back to it.
