You know, I thought "maybe he's right, maybe I'm not giving that song its due credit." So I put it on to see if I felt any different.

It's one of the high points of her career - scratch that, it's one of the high points of pop music in the nineties. Janet may not have a technically profound voice, but she can be a great emotional communicator and Together Again is proof. I love the way she sings the line, "what I'd give just to hold you close / as on Earth / in Heaven we will be together baby." In that moment you actually hear bittersweet longing transform into hopeful jubilation, all because of how she sings it.
