I don't think we've appreciated the Unbreakable "interludes" enough. The way the songs flow into each other is fabulous. I love that, even when she is consciously staying away from including interlude tracks, she can't stick to standard beginning/ending song structures.

I remember being 15-going-on-16 and hearing Rhythm Nation for the first time and thinking the idea of interludes was so profound Now they just rack up unwanted play counts on my iTunes Eventually I used my music editing software and just stitched them together with the tracks they lead into (or lead out of, depending on what sounds best in a given situation).
And I've allowed Can't Be Stopped to be its own track because, come on.

Janet definitely had a couple of her worst interludes. But they were also the most tryhard/edgy in terms of setting a "mood." I really liked TVR interludes because they add something different to the mix: they (mostly) give the album a lighter, more humorous and self-aware bent.

That track list was doing the absolute most and for no reason. Those interludes shouldn't have been individual tracks if they're under 10 seconds.

Agreed. It feels like "this is my big album." Not "this is my best album."
I think people need to stop talking **** on the janet. album, because it's my favorite, and it's Christmas time, and I just walked in the room, and I got some very sad news today and you all need to be nice to me.
