She wrote it and cut a demo in April 2000 out of frustration, Mathew heard it and siphoned it to Sony for Charlie's Angels, and Sony wanted it, but not the original version. So they contacted these writers/producers to change it up w/o Beyonce. The writers contacted Beyonce and asked her to help them change it up anyway.
And I'm sure she sent it back and the producers polished it for completion.
