Also low key I feel like judges has said things before and then not spoke up when somebody has asked if its about them, but I think you know I'd legit tell you if something I posted was about your song. It's just a general observation over the my time in the season's I've been a part of. I think simplicity really has a place in this game that people generally overlook, but judging by the few things I've read from this challenge, there are some nice examples.
I don't really have an opinion or preference in simple vs extravagant, either. I'd say I'm really open to different styles of writing. But my post was moreso me trying to explain that i think, at times, people in this game kind of bite off more than they can chew in trying to go for some big "concepts" that they worry them self endlessly over

K.

When you get around to reading my entry, if you do read the collapse tags, you'll kii at how accurate your description was of my song tho.
I won't say more than this post on the matter because opinions are opinions and like assholes everyone has them, but there are many different styles of writing. As you said simplicity is a style of writing, like there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. If you wanna write something that has an obvious meaning and is supposed to be taken at face value, great, do that. If you wanna write something that's pretty obvious but thinly veiled by some logical metaphors that's fantastic too. But when someone tries connecting an abstract concept to a central metaphor that literally requires an explanation because the intent isn't supposed to be obvious from the song lyrics alone (which is another style), I don't think it should be deemed something that "shouldn't" be done. I'm definitely not insinuating you have this opinion so please don't think I am. Just making a general comment. Songs should be judged within the style that they've been attempted; if the abstract song sucks, it sucks, but it shouldn't be judged with the expectation of knowing the true meaning from the song lyrics when that goes against the whole point of an abstract concept. I hope that makes sense to anyone reading this.
