A grandmother was left horrified when she found the mummified body of her own grandson in her attic two years after he suddenly went missing.

Zanobia Richmond, 65, from Erie, Pennsylvania, heard a bang upstairs at home and went to investigate.

She made the grim discovery of the badly decomposed body of Dyquain Rogers, who had vanished on November 1, 2014.

The corpse had fallen against the attic door, and Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook is now confident the body is the missing grandson's, according to Erie 's WICU 12 News.

His mother, Carol Rogers, told the station: 'I just kept pretending like he just left Erie, so I just kept focusing on that, that he left here, that's what I kept saying.'

Dyquain was 21 years old when he was last seen alive by his grandmother.
He had failed to show up for his management job that day and his family found his cell phone, wallet and classes at the house.

His final few Facebook posts suggest he was unhappy about something, with one posted on October 31st 2014 reading: 'I have been having the worst luck lately'. The next day was the last day he was seen alive.

One post, uploaded two weeks before on October 16th said: 'People are acting strange lately and thats why im doing it for me not them'.

Despite family and friends organizing a number of search parties, they could not unpick the mysterious disappearance and the cops were in the dark too.

Sorry but this attracts SO many questions?

Why was his body in the attic? Did he go up there to commit suicide? If so why? It's quite selfish to do that in his poor Grandmother's house.

Why did his body fall and make a 'bang' suddenly after two years? What position was the body in to just suddenly fall after two years?

And what do they mean by mummified? Do they mean mummified in the literal sense? Cause if so who the **** mummified it? Or do they just mean his decomposing body kinda mixed with the junk in the attic? EDIT- Just realised they could mean in the sense that it has naturally been preserved, which I guess is possible if there was little air exposure in the attic, but that's still weird and suuuuuper creepy.

But if it was definitely a suicide then that's super sad, my thoughts go out to his family.

Hmmm this is weird tho.... my friend told me that the smell of a dead person is the worst smell she ever smelled(she went to the morgue for school a few times) and that the smell penetrates your clothes and stays there. She said even after she showered it she could smell it. How did they not smell it for 2 years?/

This sounds fishy. I'm pretty sure she killed him or maybe it was an accident... She kept this big secret until she couldn't bear it anymore...

This is some Stephen King book worthy sh*t

I don't think it's that weird she didn't smell it. Idk, maybe it was one of those attics you enter through the ceiling/floor by ladder and assuming he closed the door from inside the attic, why would you smell it all over the house?

I was thinking maybe he hung himself and the body fell down, but it says it fell against the door.

He was so cute, though.

I don't think that's weird at all. We practically never enter our attic because there simply no reason to.
