It's just as "valid" as believing in any other religion tbh, it just feels extreamly dumb because it's a contemporary religion but just put yourself in the perspective that Catholicism, for example, is a brand new religion & somebody starts talking to you about this book called "The Bible", it sounds just as dumb (or even dumber).
