The thing is there is no reason for a radical change in the democratic party. The minority turnout forHillary was terrible after they built her up during the primary. If minority turnout was much higher she would have won all those states with razor thin margins. There's no need to alienate minorities for the white working class that's always voted republican anyway. What the DNC should focus on is fighting the apolitical attitude of today's liberals and getting them to vote. What Bernie is proposing could lead to the death of the Democratic Party.

That's another issue entirely. The average American is apathetic towards political discussion, which is very much evident in how people are deleting Facebook friends right and left over their opinions. This is on both sides of the spectrum. People are moving closer and closer towards locking themselves in a vacuum where they don't have to have their views challenged by anyone else. Or, worse, they have no views on anything and would rather not be coerced into having a mind of their own (as is the case with so many millennials nowadays).
That's not a Democrat problem. That's a problem with society at large. And frankly, I don't see the Democratic Party surviving through the end of the Trump/Pence regime potentially 8-12 years from now as a result. Republicans thrive on the apathy of the disenfranchised. If something supplants the Republican Party (decades from now), it'd have to be another emerging party. Whether it's one that exists now (Green/Libertarian) or one that'd be entirely brand new, I cannot say.
