I would say she ran a far better campaign than Gore, Kerry, Dukakis, etc.

In hindsight it's kinda appalling how little attention she paid to small town America. All of her events and appearances that I can think of were either in cities or on college campuses.

And they definitely depended too much on the "Donald is unfit" type of advertisements when they should have just been pushing an endless stream of "I'm better for the economy" and "I'm better for the working class" type ads.

Just because he ran for president and gained a large audience doesn't mean he has to hand that influence over the Democrats now... especially with the way they tried to undermine him... are ya'll okay?

"longtime Democrats" are the Democrats who are old enough to remember Ronald Reagan/George Bush Sr walloping the Dems with openly racist/classist platforms that wouldn't help anybody but the rich white elite

these people only saw the Democratic party win elections by running with an centrist, anti-Progressive, lite-Republican message (Carter/Clinton). for this reason, these people will never support Bernie or anybody like him because his policies are seen by them as too Progressive for broad appeal to the electorate

these were the same Democrats who criticized Obama for being "too Socialist" in 2008 and overwhelmingly supported Hillary over Obama because she was more "electable." the exact same criticisms they have of Bernie are the criticisms they threw at Obama. now that we've seen how an Obama election turned out and how a Hillary election turned out it's safe to say that these "longtime Democrats" are out of touch with today's electorate and the current Democratic coalition.

If Bernie keeps this up, he won't have their support. And not all of them go back to Reagan, what kinda nonsense. There aren't enough old white democrats to push anyone through a primary. Whether you like it or not, it is an important bloc of voters that's there for the democratic nominee but Bernie alienates them with his antics and Obama hasn't regardless of your desperate attempt at equating Obama (an actual democrat) to Bernie.

If Bernie loves being an indie so much, then don't run on the DNC platform.

Obama is not Bernie. 90%+ of those longtime democrats got behind Obama in 2008 because he was an actual democrat and Hillary campaigned for him. Bernie could not sell Hillary to his supporters because they were not actual democrats just like him.

Obama was never a socialist, no clue where you're getting that from. The most socialist thing he had was his universal healthcare plan which actually came from Hillary's platform. So once again you're dishonestly equating the two. He was only attacked once for socialism and it was McCain's doing long after the primary.
