I've never played a full Zelda game.
Everyone tells me MM and OoT are good, but they both look so complicated

OoT isn't complicated at all. It's like the blueprint for so many games in that genre. It's a straight forward game to play. And an excellent one at that. The 3DS version would probably be the best starting point for the Zelda franchise. And then going into the flawless 2D Zeldas like Link Between Worlds and Minish Cap (the most underrated game of all time)

MM is terrible with that rediculous GIMiCK. It tries too hard to be edgy and do something different. I personally hated it cause I don't like how having a time limit completely discourages exploration. And how the whole game sort of feels like 'rush here, do that and then rush there'. I don't find that fun, and I don't understand why it has stans

The Oracle games are great too. They're great examples of timeless games and, other than the graphics, don't feel dated at all.

A Link Between Worlds is honestly my favorite Zelda game. And I agree with the Oracle games (I prefer Seasons a bit)

I think I own the 3DS one and I literally got like 5 minutes into it and didn't know where to go so I just gave up.

My boyfriend has forced me to play ALL 3D LoZ games in anticipation for BotW when the only one I had ever touched before was Skyward Sword (which I hate and only got past like three dungeons before quitting) and I have come to the conclusion that LoZ is overrated and a piece of ****.

That might be partly because I have beat them all, but now I'm back to being stuck on Skyward Sword. I hate motion controls so much. The camera in OoT and MM is terrible and it makes me want to KILL myself in a good majority of them.

My favorite is totally Wind Waker though. It's so cute. I have only played Phantom Hourglass and Link Between Worlds when it comes to handheld LoZ games and I have to say out of any game that I played that is LoZ.. A Link Between Worlds is my favorite too.

Spirit Tracks was actually the first Zelda game I completed so I have a fondness for it and really enjoy the touchscreen mechanic. Phantom Hourglass was the more annoying version so I'm glad I played ST first, but I really loved A Link Between Worlds too so I think 2D Zelda games are still where it's at.

Is it edgy to dislike 3D Zelda games in this thread or something tho? I guess I can't say much because I've only played Wind Waker (outstanding) and Skyward Sword (decent but eh, enjoyable in some aspects at least) but I've played through about half of Ocarina of Time in the past and while it wasn't that enjoyable I hugely appreciated what it did for gaming. So I'm willing to defend it for that regardless.

I don't even care about BoTW anymore tbh. It's taking too ****ing long, and I've been understanding and patient knowing we'd get a good game, but honestly, they have absolutely no reason to delay it again. This is beyond ridiculous.
