Lorde is everything Lana isn't and never will be in her pathetic lifetime. Her lyrics sound (in a good way) naive, genuine, extremely self-aware for her age at the time and they had the right amount of wit. Actually entering alternative territory. Baby steps.
Lana on the other hand mumbles, moans and yelps her basic meme tier ''lyrics'' and tells the world she's OH SO F*CKING depressed to enhance her entire melodramatic Nancy Sinatra shtick. Truly the Theatrical Tisch Gag of the early 10s anti-dance movement. BORING. LAZY. BE GONE.
I just looked up Royals. Not that I (really) care about charts, but it's funny to me that a song like that was a #1 hit when Blurred C*nts existed and Miley Talentless Piece Of Sh*t Cyrus had a few hits the same year too. Amazing song. Team is my favorite on PH btw. I like them all tbh.
