Yeah, in Calgary. We discussed going somewhere else, but Vancouver is just too expensive right now. The weak economy here worked in our favour as we got a house worth half a damn million for far less. We at least plan on living in this house for about 30 years.

The only downside is there is only one airline that flies to China from Calgary, well Vancouver has flights to 8 Chinese cities. Makes it hard for his parents to come visit. (They speak little English and a connection in Vancouver would be tough for them.)

I work alongside Canada Border Services and US Customs at the airport here and both agencies actually offer great opportunities for me in the future here too.

Tell me about it. I thought Vancouver was expensive before. I was looking earlier this year and - JESUS. Not just house prices, but everything costs a fortune. I probably couldn't even buy groceries there anymore.

The same house we got in Calgary would have easily cost $1.4 million in Vancouver. I still can't believe we managed to actually get such a large house.

I can't wait until the summer when we have backyard BBQ's, host Christmas parties, Halloween parties, etc.

When we signed the final purchase agreement, it was so surreal seeing both our names as "buyer" and soon to be the owner of a house.
