In Calgary?
I'm so proud/happy for you! Is it a starter home or something more permanent? How romantic, your first holiday in your first home. Make sure to decorate the hell out of that living room; Xmas tree, stockings, garland, the works!
Buying a home together is just such a huge thing. Seeing both your names together on something so permanent...it's just the best feeling. I still get giddy when I see our full names together on utility bills. lol.

Yeah, in Calgary. We discussed going somewhere else, but Vancouver is just too expensive right now. The weak economy here worked in our favour as we got a house worth half a damn million for far less. We at least plan on living in this house for about 30 years.
The only downside is there is only one airline that flies to China from Calgary, well Vancouver has flights to 8 Chinese cities. Makes it hard for his parents to come visit. (They speak little English and a connection in Vancouver would be tough for them.)
I work alongside Canada Border Services and US Customs at the airport here and both agencies actually offer great opportunities for me in the future here too.
