I disagree. I ate SO well in Latvia/Lithuania, and they don't have many ingredients to choose from but they make really tasty and delicious food out of them.

US benefits from immigrants from all over the world. French inspired cuisine in the South for instance.
And they have easy access to a lot of seafood because of the long coasts on the West and East coast.
