This just shows that the DNC saw something in her the voters failed to see (The truth which is all the good she's done for this country vs Bernie's lackluster record of achievements) They were VERY misguided thinking Americans are grateful creatures. If they were smart enough to predict this they would have reasoned with her into stepping down and she would have accepted it as she's always dealt with the difficulties in her life and career. Instead it was Hillary Pravda and she rightfully took it in.

And I'd say the base did everything wrong too. It was a disaster on both sides although at least she tried. These young protest voters/non-voters are such egomaniacs. I guess the DNC should have taken into consideration the immaturity of its new coalitions and not nominated the controversial figure but I'm never gonna stop blaming those protesters for this.

Sarah Palin transformed the race in 2008 (first in a good way for her ticket, then she melted down). It was only like 1 in 100 voters who had they changed their vote would have won Hillary the race. She just needed someone with a tiny bit of charisma and progressive values to get her turnout up and win her the race. Instead she chooses basically a clone of herself (boring, career politician) and throws away the opportunity.

I avoided them to cheer on Clinton all election, and I don't want no "PEDOPHILE SCANDAL! PIZZAS! SATANIC CULT!!" meme ********. I'm talking about things like the Tulsi email above, or how the DNC had emailed specific journalists with article ideas to discredit, dismiss and invalidate Sanders.

Sarah Palin was the worst kind of VP anyone has ever picked. Even Al Gore didn't energize people that much and he eventually became a LEGEND. Kaine was a goofy nice boy next door. There was nothing Hillary-esque about him.

Palin wasn't a disaster at first. Her RNC speech is considered one of the most effective in history and they had a big poll jump. It was the economic crash that won it for Obama.

Bill had already energized people with his charisma. He didn't need a good VP pick. Just look at how Hillary had Bill, Obama, Michelle, on the trail for her. She was desperate for enthusiast surrogates who got the base excited. She should have picked a better VP and it would have got her over the line.

Right after the MI primary i remember there was a huge discussion in this very thread that the DNC should give the nomination to Bernie bc he had this amazing ability to generate momentum out of nowhere and all she was good for was taking all these 20 point leads in states and squandering them in a matter of days.

Sorry, I don't think VPs have much impact on the voters and Palin is probably not the best example to use.

For the record, I agreed with the general feeling that Hillary was just more qualified to handle the position but now that Trump's been elected we can say with zero facetiousness that experience, qualifications, intellect, they are all meaningless in the long run. Not of lesser importance, 100% meaningless.

this is such a good point! there's no doubt that Hillary was more qualified than Bernie to be president, but that does not mean she should have received the nomination (because being the most qualified means nothing in the end if you can't get elected)
