It's going to be two men.
The top spot will be a white young guy and his running mate will be either Latino or Black.

whoever they are going to get...the democrats need to start positioning them RIGHT NOW. dont wait until election season to introduce somebody into the fold. get the public acquainted with them throughout these next 4 years so they are ready for prime time in 2020.

Can you imagine the false/made up statistics we gonna get from the gov't depts. Everything gonna be a big ass fraud. Giuliani, Newt Gingrich, Corey Lewandowski, Steve Bannon, The Supreme Court gone that will affect generations. Ruth-Bader Ginsburg better hold on This is a mess. America will regret it.

EXACTLY. They did it exactly right with Barack, even if 2008 was a change election which helped.

Bernie's too old to run again and Warren's too progressive to win (even though I like her a lot). Julian Castro's got the HUD scandal to deal with and Cory Booker's been chased by closet rumors his entire career. Kamala's not been in public service long enough.

As cynical as this is, they need a young white guy. Can't take any chances, sorry.

Sis... Donald Trump just won the presidency and he was in the same exact situation, anything is possible from now on.
The general public is in love with her as well, so it could be a great possibility for the Democratic party given the general disinterest/hatred for Hillary.

Groundgame worked in Florida: lots of Dems voted.

But we didn't have a strong one in Michigan and Wisconsin because polling showed them to be sure states.

I really think a lot of people just figured Hillary had this in the bag and grew complacent: "She's not going to lose WI. My vote won't matter."

If they had LIKED her they would have voted even if they thought it wasn't needed. Since they didn't, they didn't bother to show up.

They didn't "do" anything with Barack though. He wasn't a DNC plant. He was an underdog in 2008 and at some point was even losing against Clinton when it came to African Americans.

Everyone saw he had talent in 2004 but DNC insiders thought he lacked experience to run in 2008.

for as ****ed up as Trump is....it comes down to this...he had a very simple message that represented people's emotions. Obama also had a simple message in 2008 that resonated. emotional appeal is more memorable & effective than policy details. Hillary was never good at building her message outside of the experience factor. unfortunately...she was the personification of the political status quo for a lot of ppl. America wants "change"...they r tired of politics as usual & establishment....so the outsider is always going to win.

Obama is once in a life-time. Probably only Michelle can do it, but she hasn't shown any interest in getting into politics... or has she? Maybe this election will push her to do it. Other than that, there aren't really anyone... Maybe Cory Booker?
