Rihanna's 2nd album sold over 3.5 million copies worldwide with only 4 singles. Not to mention her being named Female Artist of The Year in 2006. And the difference between Rihanna and gaga is, Rihanna doesn't have to wear lobsters, trees, and blood to sell records.

To be perfectly honest, the fact that GaGa does all of that weird stuff actually turns a LOT of people off of what she makes music wise. I HATE it, but that's true.
Celestial - Wow!! That is really interesting!! And yes, it is true that in the UK album sales in comparison to the US per capita are significantly higher. I think this may be in part due to the small population. See, with all of the different demographics in the US, lots of people actually don't buy music (like my mohter, who has bought 5 CDs in her 50 year life time). Also, I think that the usage of illegal music sites being much lower in the UK may contribute to this as well.
