It's astonishing to think how much progress will be undone. All the government offices that make a point to help minorities will be gutted or leaders will be fired. Legislation to protect us will be repealed. Plan B potentially off the shelves. I just can't wrap my head around it.

I just hope that a miracle happens and LGBT rights and abortion rights aren't hurt and that ethnic and religious minorities are safe tbh

there were plenty before Trump and I'm positive there will triple in the coming months/years. Being a middle-class black kid on scholarship to a primarily white upper class prep school is so hard

Stay strong for 4 more years. Because either he's going to be a good president and actually make great strides in economy and infrastructure, while leaving social progress in tact. Or he's going to royalty **** up and destroy the Republican party once and for all.

There's also the middle ground that nothing very little changes and he pulls a Bush (minus the war) and lines his and his buddies pockets for 4 years. And that side of the nation sees how they sold out America. But everything else stays pretty much the same.

There's a victory for progressive citizens in all of this. I promise.

Where have y'all been for the last 7 years? Obama's narrow 2012 win hid the reality that the GOP were stronger than ever, and just needed a half decent candidate to win the White House and take back control. The Democrats under Obama have been a disaster in governerships, the house, the senate. Someone on twitter said the only person Obama ever helped get elected was himself.

Same here,I feel such betrayal from white people but I live in New York so let me stop. My neighborhood was celebrating with fireworks and Trump signs last night so I can't look at my white neighbors the same anymore

My life doesn't feel real. President Trump doesn't feel real. It's like election night didn't happen, it's all just black. There's no way our country elected Donald Trump. I'm in disbelief every time I turn on the TV, open my laptop, check my phone, walk outside...

My world is unbalanced. I cried last night, and thought I was coming to terms. But I'm back in a state of shock and disbelief. Why didn't Hillary win?

I'm surprised I didn't faint at the polls, as the results came in I felt light-headed then my uncle writes that my grandma's very sick and he'll call my mom later because grandma's been in the hospital for a long time. I know she's hanging on by a string because she has suffered from cirrhosis and other complications for quite some time. I'm surprised I didn't cry serving people, I tried to be as helpful as possible for about 2 hours before the polls closed and I still had to help count the ballots and put everything away. I call my mom and she reminds me of the falling out between her and my aunt last month and how she's not picking up the phone when she calls to ask for any update and my heart breaks at work. I tried to be strong all election night. It wasn't until later that I let my director, who is very nice, know in the truck on the way back that I couldn't focus the last two hours because of all that happened and he tells me that he knew I was going through something, but didn't ask. One of the worst days of my life. I was exhausted in every sense when I came home.

"He won't ever make it past primaries and become the nominee"
"He won't ever become president"

Now we have to hope he gets impeached, or only does 4 years.
