Bye bye HFTW Remix. You exceeded all our expectations and will soon become Coldplay's most streamed song on Spotify. It's still pulling over 1.3M worldwide daily

I feel like Adventure Of A Lifetime would have done better if it had gotten the same amount of playlist promo as HFTW; the latter is still #24 on popmusic's playlist chart.

The amount of payola it got The superior version should have got it

I will never understand why the SeeB remix got payola'd so hard but the original (aka inherently better) version didn't I'm highkey pressed about that.

Well, another song's SeeB remix was already a big hit earlier this year, and EDM-pop does far better on Spotify than adult pop (which is what the original version is).
The remix was also the only reason it did as well as it did on pop radio, where it peaked at #20 AS+R.

yeah here in NY on Z100 I occasionally hear the seeB remix. makes sense
Warner and Coldplay ****ed up Hymn release so they tried to save it with the remix and iTunes discounts but it did well all things considered.
My local HAC radio played the original but SiriusXM was playing the remix.
I heard HFTW in bars more than on radio

AS+R is a radio chart for All Stations (songs) + Recurrent songs
Mess. Broccoli seemed like it'd be the quintessential urban song of the year (after Panda, and OD if you consider that) yet Black Beatles is getting ready to snatch its wig.
I feel like I know nothing about charts... so when Black Beatles goes #1, does it have to stay #1 for a week to dethrone "Closer"? It's a dumb question and I think the answer is yes

No. If it were to go #1 on the Hot 100, that would count as dethroning Closer, because Closer would not be #1 anymore.
But that won't happen until it seriously builds up its airplay or continues to grow at a rapid pace on streaming and sales. Starboy is still the bigger threat to Closer on the Hot 100.
