I want more hard-hitting songs on the next album. I love most songs here but still prefer the debut album.
Patience is lush and remains the superior song.

Really? Handwritten is a nice album but I think it lacks something that Illuminate completely fills. Illuminate became my favorite album of the year. I have to listen like once per day.
For SM3, I want darker songs with some emotional content. It would be nice, imo. I kinda got tired of his acoustic songs but it's his niche so...yeah
An album full of Roses, Mercy and Bad Reputation would be perfect.

There is not a song on the new album that reaches the heights of The Weight or Imagination for me.
I adore Roses but that's because it feels like it'd fit on Handwritten. Illuminate however has some of his worst tracks, like Understand, Three Empty Words or Don't Be a Fool. These are the parts that feel bland and I know that he can offer so much more.
I want darker songs too, plus more guitars. His live version are always so rock-y, while the studio versions are pretty vanilla.
But he's still so young and he's got so much potential. I know he'll deliver big.

The Weight is his best song ever to me. I agree with you on that . It's such a well written and emotional song and he wrote by himself in a such young age 
I do think he wanted to expended more of his writing skills and the sound he wanted intended to do, like he helped to produce some of his songs but I got your point. Illuminate by me it's more commercial and more emotional than HW. Understand, TEW and DBAF might be weaker than most of tracks on Handwritten but I think he got the right foot on it, the album has more appeal to the adults. I guess.
Yeah. His version live of Mercy is way better and darker than the studio album. He should've kept the live version on the album too lol
Agree. With SM3, he'll improve way more his writting skills and artistic visions. Hopefully we'll get the album on 2018.
