Natalie upstaged Bey on the vocals, but from the aspect of what the performance was intended to accomplish...
...which was "political grandstanding"...mission accomplished!

Thank You.
Hive always acts like Bey is the first to do anything, not this time sweeties!
Queen Jennifer Nettles was doing the lovely tribute to Dolly Parton.

This is so great. They all gave an excellent performance.
From what I could see, most of the women in the audience seemed to love it.
Not sure about some of the guys.

Great performance. Beyoncé's body is snatched in that dress
Shame the production team tried to take the focus away from B but she knew where to be haha

How was it on par with Rihanna's? That other woman took over on RIhanna's performance and it was dull.

The Dixie Chicks need to find a genre that supports their liberal opinions.
It was on par with Rihanna's country music foray in at the ACM's in 2011...it was okay, but don't make a habit of it Bey.

Actually Beyonce performed with them because The Dixie Chicks did a cover of Daddy Lessons, and praised the album after it's release, while on tour in London. Why wouldn't she perform with them at the CMAs considering the controversy around both parties? Dixie Chicks are one of the most celebrated acts in Country history, they just happened to piss off their fans. If she wanted to she could've performed with any Country artist, and they would've glady said, "Yes!". They praise and adore her. She's even had a Country legend cover her song (Reba w/ IIWAB).

Natalie did great, but in no way, shape, or form were her vocals better than Bey's vocals, she had some way rough moments.
Also, despite what I thought would happen, there was no "political grandstanding", they performed the song that the Dixie Chicks performed earlier in the year, it made sense, many of us thought Bey would perform at the CMAs this year, too.
Either enjoy the performance, or don't, but no need to come in and make up ****.

And Natalie took over Bey's. Bey tried, but she looked awkward at times.
I give her kudos for doing it, though.

...but that was before Bey aligned herself with BLM...no Country music artist with a "career to lose" wants to be associated with that...the Dixie Chicks had nothing to lose as their career is over in Country music.

I'm not making things up...Bey performing with the Dixie Chicks was a "political statement" in of itself, otherwise Bey would of done "Joline" or "9to5" as a tribute to Dolly Parton.
The Dixie Chicks are hated for their political views...they are radioactive in Country music, Bey knew what she was doing by performing with them.

And there are still Country artists who have tweeted support for Bey (one in particular, Brad Paisely, the host and popular male superstar, even welcomed her to Country music), and defended the Country sound of the song, Daddy Lessons, after she aligned herself with BLM.
Like I said, anyone she asked would've said yes. Dixie Chicks just happened to extend an Olive branch first with their cover of it.
