The hate on 'Hotel'.
Y'all are the worst.
Here's my Pro/Contra list:
Pro:
- The cast trailer was pure satisfaction, as was several other promo
- Liz Taylor's journey throughout 'Hotel' was amazing; a very well written character
- Sarah Paulson serving villainess realness as Sally; every time she was on screen was pure excitement
- The Hotel Cortez being an amazing set; it was pretty iconic with the lounge, the bar, hotel rooms, etc...
- Real Serial Killers reenacted by actors like Lily Rabe or John Carroll Lynch; they made magic out of those small roles
- Mare Winningham serving some humorous moments as Ms. Evers, making her the best recurring character of 'Hotel'
- Connections to Murder House were a nice addition
- Wes Bentley made a nice lead for a change; acted and looked great despite a pretty mediocre role
- Gaga did a pretty solid job despite a few ups and downs
- Clearly the best soundtrack of all seasons
- The kids were something new - the Scarlet and Wren actresses shined a lot
- There was a healthy amount of sex as you would expect it in a Hotel
- Guest characters like Naomi Campbell, Max Greenfield or Darren Criss served for great moments
- Evan Peters making yet another great impression as psychic James March
- The idea of vampires not biting but cutting was something new and original among other things
- The histories of some characters were essential and some of the highlights of 'Hotel' (how Liz became Liz, The Countess' love triangle, March's murders, Sally's heroine horror, etc...)
- The humor did not come short (Iris' video for her fans, Liz's sarcasm, Tristan's dumbness, etc...)
Contra:
- Most of the male actors pretty much looked the same and probably made viewers confused as to where the storyline continued (Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Finn Wittrock in specific)
- Ramona Royale (Angela Bassett) was probably the most useless sidekick with the most useless profession
- Cheyenne Jackson's role Will Drake was also very bland and not necessary to the story
- Connections to Coven were too much - they only served just to kill off Queenie
- Chloe Sevigny's acting was quite emotionless and stone cold but was probably due to her poorly written character
- The Addiction Demon was a plot hole - we never got to know how it came to be
- It was pretty obvious who the 10CK was as the story continued (Devil's Night especially) until the big reveal
- The ending was among the worst in AHS history
- The side story with the kids with measles was filler material and not well executed
