so we should just not have any laws then? why have traffic penalties when people still run the red light anyway? why have laws against scamming when people scam anyway? this logic is chaotic.
btw, there's evidence that laws do, in fact, take hits on criminal behaviour.
here's one study; it shows that over the past two decades, USA terrorists have almost totally abandoned bombing. why? becuase after the 1995 oklahoma city bombings laws made it harder for people to purchase bomb ingredients and easier for law enforcement to monitor purchases. this made terrorists switch from bombs to guns.
to prove this even further, a website called the Trace has done some research and found that 95% of terrorism deaths in the USA, from jan 2002 to aug 2015, are caused by guns.
