Simn, do you think "Scars To Your Beautiful" have a chance to go top 15 on Hot 100??

I don't get why people think that black artists haven't been prominent on the charts lately. So far in 2016, for 21 out of 44 weeks, the #1 spot has been occupied by a black lead artist (Work, One Dance, Panda). If we count black featured artists, that's 34 out of 44 weeks (Cheap Thrills, Closer). And the fact that the next #1 will probably be by another black artist (Starboy).

I don't count Halsey as black.

Don't erase ha blackness.
I do agree that she doesn't look black in the slightest, but in all fairness, she's just as black as Mariah. I feel like the black community would be more willing to acknowledge her if she wasn't...well...Halsey lol.

It will go as far as radio takes it and callout scores are great so I can certainly see it going that far

Zay Hilfigerrr & Zayion McCall, "Juju on That Beat"
Quote:
|
The viral smash skyrockets 89-11 on the Hot 100, after its buzz sparked Hilfigerrr and McCall's signing to Atlantic Records and an official "Juju" release to digital retailers and streaming services Sept. 30. The song roars to a No. 4 re-entry on Streaming Songs, leaping by 957 percent to 16.7 million U.S. streams in the week ending Oct. 13, according to Nielsen Music, and pushes 13-8 on Digital Song Sales, up by 33 percent to 41,000 downloads sold.
|
John Legend, "Love Me Now"
Quote:
|
At No. 55, John Legend lands his highest Hot 100 debut, as the song sold 36,000 in the week ending Oct. 13. (Notably, four days earlier, he helped cut the ribbon for the new John Legend Theater in his hometown of Springfield, Ohio.) The uptempo track also starts at No. 8 on Hot R&B Songs.
|
Maroon 5 feat. Kendrick Lamar, Don't Wanna Know"
Quote:
|
The pop/trop-house collab enters the Hot 100 at No. 56, aided by 28,000 downloads sold, good for a No. 15 start on Digital Song Sales, and 1.5 million U.S. streams earned in the week ending Oct. 13. Notably, the song's Oct. 12 release allowed for only two days of sales and streaming activity in the tracking week, which closed Oct. 13. With the airplay tracking week ending Oct. 16, "Know" enters Radio Songs at No. 40 with 31 million radio audience impressions since its arrival.
|
Grace feat. G-Eazy, "You Don't Own Me"
Quote:
|
Grace's remake of Lesley Gore's classic surges 87-61 on the Hot 100, approaching its No. 57 peak logged on the Sept. 3-dated chart; the song debuted on the May 7 Hot 100. Helping the renewed momentum for Grace's cover is its synch in a new Toyota Corolla commercial (which does not feature Grace's vocals). Grace's "Own" blasts 41-17 on Digital Song Sales, up by 84 percent to 27,000 downloads sold. It also gains by 11 percent to 4.2 million domestic streams. Meanwhile, Gore's original also soars in sales, debuting at No. 29 on Pop Digital Song Sales with a 95 percent burst to 10,000 sold. Her version reached No. 2 on the Hot 100 in 1964.
|
Lady Gaga, "Million Reasons"
Quote:
|
Following the No. 15-peaking "Perfect Illusion" (now at No. 95), Lady Gaga charts a second song from Joanne, due tomorrow (Oct. 21). Ballad "Million Reasons" bows at No. 76 with 2.7 million U.S. streams and 26,000 sold.

Mariah at least has darker skin. The black community will never see Halsey as one of them because no one else does. She falls under Troian Bellisario category of 'oh that's cute you have Black ancestry'. Coming from a black person.

Closer still has such a strong lead
But it's definitely weakening. If a big artist release their lead in a week or two with an immediate vevo release + Spotify promo, they'd debut at #1.

Sex With Me is so consistent How many weeks did it spend in the Bubbling Under? Or it can't chart there anymore once it charted on the Hot 100?

Yeah bubbling under is just for songs that havent been on the Hot 100. Which is why its not really accurate to say #10 there is #110 overall.

That would mean Katy, Taylor, JT, or Bieber would have to drop something. I don't think anyone else has that kinda power really at the moment.
