I think its correct. Yes a girlband is singular, but they're 4 people. So its Are not is back.

na, i get what you're saying, but it's a collective term. for example, you would say "a group of monsters is going nuts in the Joanne thread" or "The United States is the most obese country in North America"

anyway, sorry to derail the convo. OT, the backlash is ridiculous. they looked fine and the songs aren't THAT similar, it's kind of just whatever lol

All these people saying "who?" or "SOTME is #1 on iTunes WW, what backlash?" are so petty and oblivious. The backlash is the fact that every big publication and media outlet is reporting about this plagarism mess and trust me that is not good for Little Mix's musical credibility and reputation. Also, SOTME is #4 on WW iTunes, not #1 like you deluded mixers claim, but that's besides the point. Why are people so fast to bring up how known an artist is... who gives a flying f*ck. Nobody in here is talking about GRL being more known and having more hits than Little Mix, we're talking about LITTLE MIX a band whose stans claim they're so artistic and great songwriters yet they felt the need to completely rip-off an entire song... pre-chorus, chorus, bridge, production, etc! literally from top to bottom. Absolutely zero regard to artistry.

And for those still in denial, there's literally clips of Perrie singing along to to 'Ugly Heart' in 2015. It is apparently her make-up artist's favorite song...how convenient. There's also videos on Youtube that break down everything and shows you how Little Mix blatantly commited plagarism. I wouldn't be shocked if they get sued and lose.

The denial is real. It has identical pre-chorus, chorus and even bridge. the same SPECIFIC BEAT over THE SAME melody. The fact you're saying the girls wrote it themselves is a self-drag but guess what? I believe you! I've seen that video of Perrie Edwards jamming out to 'Ugly Heart' in 2015! She sure got inspired in those songwriting sessions! Ugh why can't stans like you just admit when your fave does something wrong. A lot of mixers have alredy come to grips with their idols' new single being a copy of a GRL song and are even claiming Little Mix sampled the song instead.

Nah, but seriously.... won't be shocked if Little Mix is taken to court and they end up losing.
