Here in the UK there was a 'shy Tory [conservative]' effect in 1992 which meant people were afraid to report they were supporting the Conservatives until they went to the ballot box. A similar thing happened last year, with polls vastly understating a Conservative victory... and in this year's EU referendum.

One thing Trump supporters aren't is shy.
Even if there is some, it will get cancelled out by his nonexistent ground game and a good few shy Hillary supporters.
Plus, Trump almost never overperformed his polling in the primaries, again probably due to his lack of ground game.
