I have some unsolicited feelings about BTS to share which are like 60% me being a vocal snob and 40% kidding but mostly the first thing.

After listening to Wings a few times I end up feeling the same way I do about all of their releases. The writing and production is varying shades of good/great, but I can't get past the vocals. If literally any other group released the same music I'd be ranting in here about how amazing they were, but I've never gotten to that point with any of BTS's songs since so much of their best stuff is dragged down by the fact that not ONE of them can consistently produce a pitch.
Jungkook has a very pretty voice and he's usually saved by the mixing on their tracks, but whenever Jimin or V open their mouths on a studio track I kind of want to lock myself in my garage and listen to Tiffany sing the national anthem on repeat. As petty as this is it literally ruins most of their songs for me, even ones I really like.
Would it be so difficult to teach at least one of them to...idk, not try to blow up a balloon with their nose when they sing? All four of them definitely have the capability, but Jungkook refuses to learn, Jimin has been told too many times that the ridiculous falsetto screaming he does is acceptable, V tries to imitate him instead of being, you know, an actual baritone, and Jin doesn't really sing anything despite being the only one who doesn't sound like someone trying to play the harmonica in the wrong direction every time he opens his mouth. Though he's kind of starting to meld with the others, which...whatever.
Not only is it frustrating because they make legitimately impressive music, but also because they've shown multiple times they're capable of singing like human beings.

It's just so frustrating. I know I'm a snob like I KNOW but it's just...sometimes I think about if Butterfly was sung by like the EXO vocal line and then I get really quiet for a while, you know?
So anyway there you go I'm gonna go reflect for like a week now I apologize for whatever unaired episode of "BK 2014: before I learned to chill" this came from.
Next week: a look at why their vocal producer thinks it's okay to make the situation WORSE by getting strung out on crack before mixing their songs.
