What you have to understand is...Ciara's not coming off the "Goodies" era, she's coming off "Fantasy Ride".
"Go Girl" is a pop-driven and was meant to appeal to mainstream radio, hints the T-Pain feature. "Never Ever" is also a pop-driven ballad, very soft and chorus heavy, had Beyonce, Mariah Carey or Usher released this, it would have crossed over with no problem. "Never Ever" wasn't even promoted to Pop radio though, it was promoted to
Urban because of "Love Sex Magic". A crossover single and a pure pop single promoting to different formats...stupid.
I think as long as Ciara does REALLY well on Urban and Rhythmic she'll be fine, because she will most likely go Top 40 on CHR if she's getting heavy play on the other two formats.
