It's called giving excuses. Almost none of the songs that smash in it's first week now-a-days have any kind of promo, people just like them & watch the video, stream the song & radios play them by demand. Can give you dozen of examples.

It's ok though, I like to delude myself into thinking that this is a promo problem too.

Is it so hard for you guys to accept that the main "problem" & the reason the song is flopping as bad as it is, is not the promo but the song itself?

I love Perfect Delusion but I can perfectly understand why it won't do good.

cause it's not, that's why noone should expect instant smash from gaga cause it won't happen. You either need to promote either have hype, you can't expect song smash out of blue. Noone is checking for Gaga atm hence noone even knows about the song. If she released PF sized smash it would still flop if it had same promotion or better say lack of it. You can't expect artist who hit the bottom with last era, whose last singles peaked at 76 and 95 and era was labeled as flop come with new single and then smash without doing anything. That's not realistic. if Gaga will ever have hit again she will have to work for it

oh here we go with asumptions, first you assume it will underperform and then that it will have "plenty of promo".

Also isn't this basically confirming my point that it's not about music itself. You just said it will underperform without hearing it.
