I bet that's what you think of TF/TFM. Heavily assisted back then by a team, to execute her ideas to perfection and quality,even her dance choreo. Beyonce is already a legend based on what i described and especially when she smashed from her D.C days so has hits under her belt in plenty, to be able to relax now and release what she likes. Equally she keeps her image quality looking the part, in interviews and public.
Anyway for me Joanne the album will be a reflection of future Gaga, if i love it all am cool,i still love Cheek to cheek aloooot.
I always love all her albums but i admit Artpop Itunes festival, whether it was all demo versions performed, took huge dumps on the overproduced mess the album ended up being. Especially Swine,Dope and Sex dreams, i hate the album versions. Which pisses me off, whats happening? How J&D got in her album but Cake like Lady Gaga was previously made and ten times better makes me TRIGGERED. Equally how the FAME perfume commercial video was a trillion quasars times better than ((no video)) DWUW has me
Gaga's good music nowadays has its magic in the beginning parts of refining the demo but then towards the end, its an overproduction disaster. Just like am sure PI was a masterpiece but the final output, ill keep silent. Its just nice.
Whatever Joanne the album and future videos have in store for us, have me hopeful, i just hope it wont make me tear up at how good the fashion Video for Chic's song I want your love was better than anything on Joanne's singlesvideos.. Though i do like the white eyed Gaga in PI, its ecstatic.
And yes i am a redone fan, i have a feeling, whatever was scrapped were mega hits and music magic that would have Gagged my ears with quality, especially when Nile Rodgers was to equally produce some songs. Oh well maybe all this will be for next era.

For me... Perfect Illusion's only saving grace is the production. The fact that its tanking dosen't really bother me, not thats it's an awful song but its so inanely subpar compared to what we're used to hearing from her... and if she cares about what her fans have to say, what her label has to say... she'll start putting out better music..

you don't need to be "super" fan to like it. Nor disliking it makes you any less of the fan. Just cause you don't like it doesn't mean anyone else doesn't. And it's okay that you don't like it cause everyone has a taste (but there is no need to say it every few days and trash the song like some do, like we got it first time).

And about GP, I'm repeating, she didn't have enough exposure for GP to have any impact on it's perfomance. So stop with nonsense that gp doesn't like it, We don't know that cause most of them don't even know it exists. Only stans and people who stay in touch with music industry do. If any song was released instead of PI in this state of her carrer with this nonexistent promo, it would do similarly chart wise

I think most Gaga fans aren't accustom to living in the confined space of the "smash bop" vacuum... Gaga's experimented with so many different styles and sounds over the years that a change in music direction is something to be expected...
Gaga's done 80's Springsteen influenced anthems well in the past (see most of Born this Way) but this is just... well, what it is really.
I really wonder... if ARTPOP pulled in big numbers... what would we have gotten instead.

Every fan I've spoken to (in real life, not including twitter or tumblr in this) really dosen't like the song...
For the record I absolutely love Gaga. And I'm glad that she's happy... and no I don't think she care's about success anymore and that IS a really healthy thing... BUT if Joanne is going to follow in Perfect Illusions footsteps... she'll end up alienating half the damn fanbase.

The song didn't have enough exposure, that's right, but GP won't care about it either way. There's nothing special about it. And honestly, if someone is willing to hear rock music, who will pick a Lady Gaga's track? Gimme a break. It is pretty comprehensible if some fans don't like PI (me included), that's not what made us Gaga's fans and that's not what we are expecting from her. On the other hand, it's also understandable that other fans love it, since they consider it to be an "evolution", even though I am not that versatile when it comes to music genres.
it's not an excuse but the GP really doesn't know the song. i had to play the song to all my str8 friends, no one heard it.

I was just saying common sense, which you don't have I guess based on your response, otherwise there would be no need to say that.
It wasn't even about defending a song, it's about people having huge expectations for a song that noone knows about. And if she continues this kind of "promo" that will be case with all her singles so It would be better if people realize that instead blaming song each time.

I'm just establishing what the majority seem to be saying... songs like Into You, Run Away With Me, Kiss It Better, Do What U Want etc... are marvelled by ATRL (and the gays of the inter-web) because they're largely considered fantastic pop songs. Since February 2011 Gaga's always been polarising with her leads... Born this Way, Applause etc... but Perfect Illusion seems to be the first one where the vast majority are under the impression the song is just a bit pants...
I haven't cared about the charts since Do What U Want...
