don't listen to anyone that says XOXO is their best. I recommend starting from MAMA which was their first release, they consistently improve (excluding XOXO which was a stepback musically but a step forward for them career-wise). EXODUS/Love Me Right repackage is what most fans hail as their best but I personally think EX'ACT, their most recent release, is their best work.
standout songs on each release to look out for:
MAMA EP: MAMA, History, Machine, What Is Love
XOXO: Growl, XOXO, Black Pearl, Baby Don't Cry
Overdose EP: Overdose, Thunder, Moonlight
EXODUS/Love Me Right repackage: Call Me Baby, Transformer, Love Me Right, Hurt, Tender Love, EXODUS, What If, El Dorado
EX'ACT: every song besides Cloud 9 and Stronger which could go either way.
I excluded special releases like their christmas albums.
If you don't love any of these, then they're probably not for you.
wow, thanks for taking the time
i'll take your word on it and start with MAMA . I will probably download all of their stuff and then listen to it cause their stuff on Spotify is pretty messy
Black Pearl is the only 10/10 on XOXO thanks to DEAN. And let's not even get into how better it got when it was EXODUS/Overdose-ified:
give it up, deelishis.

no problem
and yeah, some releases are sorted as EXO-K so it's like all over the place
I'm so excited I will try to snatch Korea Festa Festival this Friday, there will be Wonder Girls performing, many news outlets annouced SISTAR too but I don't find them on the official website, I hope they will be there I'm going to die
OMG I just woke up and SHINee are gonna appear on weekly idol!!!
I can't believe we are actually getting a variety show appearance from them, it has been forever and the last time SHINee appeared there was 3.5 years ago
Also, even though I'm already watching SHINee's Hello Baby season and Channel SNSD, I spontaneously decided to watch one episode of EXO's Showtime after needing to see more from Kai after accidentally watching him on Oh My Baby because of related videos while watching Hello Babyrandomly and now I'm kinda hooked and wanna watch the whole season. Except, I still need to listen to half of SHINee's discography before the comeback along with all of BTS before their comeback, not to mention starting with EXO's discography cause I haven't even started yet but I'm watching their reality, not to even begin on the rest of the list of kpop albums I want to listen to.... but all I've been able to listen to is The Secret mini, Oh!, Gee and Love Paint and Russian Roulette.
And I've been trying to keep up with like, life. Kpop has me overwhelmed.
Sis don't worry, not everyone can moonlight their way through the history of kpop in a week
Enjoy the ride

this post and gif usage matches ever so perfectly. Do what Kosmo says. Just go with the flow and don't try to jump all in or feel like you're obligated to like all of these groups and people I'm 8 months in since becoming a kpop fan and I know all that I need to know about my 100% faves while still discovering past events at my own speed or from reading posts in this thread.
I think I've listened to Turbulence enough to have an opinion now and if I had to sum it up in one sentence it would be: amazing production and lackluster hooks. The production is A++, top tier level from the beginning till the end. Boomx3, Mayday, My Home, Skyway all have gloooorious instrumentals. But they all kind of lack a hook, the choruses are usually the weakest point of the song on this album. Dreamin' is the only one that has a build up and a proper hook that HITS you. Who's That is the 2nd one, it could've been Just Right 2.0 if they went a bit harder in there but it's still good.
But overall I'm impressed. They were only my 2nd group I ever listened to and as I started discovering more and more of kpop I realized that their discography is a bit... fillerish. Departure was solid, but I don't really go back to anything but Can't/BOMK and I was a worried about not liking this album, but they delivered. The trinity:
My only request is PLS stop with the 'I'm your homeboy you're my homegirl' kinda lyrics
