It is now, but not when it came out. 2 On was actually one of the first urban songs to cross over to pop back then, along with Don't Tell Em, before the urban revival / trap thing took off. A pioneer right out the gate

Feels Like Vegas deserved payola, not this mess of a song (no shade Truth Teller and others)
I'll say it again: save the time/money and drop the album within the next month. Re-evaluate this horrid situation and find SONGS that can actually help her. Don't waste the few times you can elbow-nudge-wink-wink at radio on singles that don't deserve it and will never see success
Also, maybe call back Bobby Brackins? Or force this girl to get a ****ing co-writer? I was just thinking HOW can the girl who gave us 2 On not be able to write a hook? I didn't know it had a co-writer until now. That explains so much. Stop letting her have complete songwriting control. I don't know if it's an ego thing or what, but for her sake she needs to find someone who can help her

In Tinashe's defense, the current songs she released without a proper hook like this and Company both were cowritten with The Dream and/or Tricky Stewart. I mean their writing is very poor these days. Just look at Nicole Scherzinger's Big Fat Lie, which lyrically also has some very poor moments.
Maybe she needs a songwriter as co-writer and leave the producers, just as that, producers. I feel her label needs to stop putting coins in big names like the Max Martin camp and Tricky and The Dream and actually work on good material. There are so many unknown and less known producers who serve quality and commercial value, without it turning out in the direction she goes currently.

If you a lame ***** you ain't making no noise
Get faded, turn up with the big boys
Live fast, die young that's my choice
Get money, get money like an invoice
We can mob all in the whip
Make the money make a grip
I be stuntin' with my clique
Getting faded 'till we trip (oh)
Man, I love to get on
I love to get 2 on
When the drink be too strong
When the tree be way too strong
Get faded, turn up, bruh
Pour it on up 'till I can't even think no more
Get ratchet, go dumb then go more dumb then
We can keep it lit, let's roll
I love to get 2 on
Let-let... let's roll
I love to get 2 on, I love to
Let-let-let's roll
Let-let-let's roll
When the **** will 2016 Tinashe?
The pre-hook alone is God level

Just give me the drink and we can pour it ya
And my enemies, they see me living now
And if you roll with me, then you'll be winning now, oh

I don't know if you follow Tinashe close enough to know this but the only reason she's getting spins on Z100 etc it's because she's doing a big iHeart festival this weekend and that's probably the reason why she's getting some spins. Also, her last official pop single (Player) did go top 40, and she build a good relationship with this big radio stations since All Hands On Deck, remember all that "random" events that she did since then.
She did work with Bobby Brackins for the album, we even had some snippets some months ago. I agree that her recent songs (especially when it comes to catchy chorus) aren't strong enough, but the fact that she released two of the three The-Dream produced songs for the album sounds weird to me. I think that she have better material saved for the album, so I just hope that Superlove, Company or whatever be successful enough to get this album out. And start with a fresh and solid direction next time, not only on the creative board, but on the logistics too. We all deserves to have this album out.

Maybe she was contractually obliged.

I guess the whole point of working with The-Dream was that RCA felt there were no single ready songs on the tracklist, so it makes sense that they released 2 of his songs.
My other fave did the same in the Bionic era with Polow Da Don. Wheeeww, that ended both of them

That's what I'm thinking. She worked with Sir. Nolan, Partynextdoor, Julia Michaels, Bloodpop and Stargate for the album, and they all produced huge hits recently. What is the point of releasing stuff from The-Dream when she probably have more promising and fresh songs recorded?

I feel like she could do something amazing with Mattman and Robin (more pure pop) or Nic Nac (more urban-tinged pop). And obviously Max Martin but I feel like that's too obvious and if it didn't happen after 2 On, I don't see it happening now.
I still haven't heard this once on Australian radio though. Idk if it's even being pushed here at all.

done and done. She probably has 20 smashes in the vault that her label will never pick.

She worked with the Max Martin camp on Player Max himself is also rather miss than hit these days, so idk if that would be the right producer to go to.

Nic Nac seemed really obvious to me so I'm not surprised, but she's actually already worked with Max? I don't count Player since Max's team =/= Max. And Lukas Loules/Alexander Kronlund aren't exactly known for collaborating with Max all the time. When I think of Max's team I think of Savan Kotecha, Ali Payami, Ilya, Shellback etc.

She also worked with Max himself, form a 2015 article from Billboard

The Los Angeles-raised singer-dancer, born Tinashe Jorgenson Kachingwe, is known for a mix of hard-edged club tracks like "2 On" and ethereal alt-R&B, frequently self-produced in her bedroom studio. But for her new album, Tinashe worked with megawatt pop producers like Dr. Luke and Max Martin for a bigger and brighter sound.
