This hasnt been announced yet so it may not actually be for a residency...but whatever the case, all signs point to the extension. I mean, who does a new shoot for the last few shows of a series?

I think she'll come back with a new concept though.

And the money is too good to NOT do it. There isn't a real reason not to. I mean, the alleged $500K per show in Vegas is WAY more she's making going on tour.

I'm having a MOMENT with The Emancipation of Mimi right now. I got the album the day it came out eleven years ago and here I am singing along and knowing all the words Stay the niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

I'd only become a big Mariah fan the previous Fall, but it was still so exciting to be there for her and watch her rise up again. That was the best era I've ever experienced as a fan of anyone.

I understand the cause for concern, but it completely depends on how she's portrayed. Remember that it's just an 8-part mini-series. She's not over here promising to put her dirty laundry on TV (and she wouldn't do that anyway) and turn into a reality show star. Kim and co. use the show to get and remain famous: it's all they have. Mariah is presenting a behind-the-scenes look at her tour. It's a very different concept!

I also very much disagree that she doesn't care about her music anymore: MIAM...TEC is widely regarded as one of her best albums ever (ignore Rocket) and has some AMAZING tracks on it. Like, she's 25 years in the game and her most recent album had her best lead single! She's still making great music and still cares about the music. BUT she's not the most popular act right now. Stella knows that, MC knows that, the world knows that. If this show can get her press and then she can drop a great song, I'm not gonna complain about it.

See. It's sad stuff like that makes you sound like her brother! Mariah is just a fun person and she loves to live life. You can tell she's a great mother and not a selfish person. Would you rather for her to stay where she was a in a controlling marriage and continuing to be the same controlled person she was?!

And as far as the music, she will always continue to show off the lessers. She's at a point where music is changing and she's trying to find her rhythm again like she was doing after Charmbracelet. I so hope she proves everyone wrong again and be the Comeback Queen that she is because I'm getting so sick of these disses that everyone pulls on her. No she's not Celine, she's not Barbra, she's Mariah, and she feels and wants to live young. And yes she's still a LEGEND, and hasn't tarnished anything!! Deal with it!!!
