This year's best actress Oscar is going to be 'Mortal Kombat' between Emma Stone and Natalie Portman. #TIFF16
Variety exposing their racist ass
or maybe Viola's movie is not yet so they give their opinion about it? both Jackie and La La Land were screened at festivals this weekend? maybe just maybe?
I was low-key anticipating "Lost City of Z" produced by Brad Pitt with Charlie Hunnamm, Robert Pattison and Tom Holland but I guess it's a disaster cause Amazon pushed it for next spring
I'm sure the film in its entirety will live up to the unanimous glowing reviews but this clip
I wasn't a big fan of this clip either, I was initially nervous for Natalie. However, looking at clips of the real Jackie made me realize that Natalie pretty much nailed jackies manner of speaking and mannerism. I'm ready to see.
Random but I didn't think that the actress who won best supporting actress for the Danish girl was that great. The film was also pretty good to meh.

So Portman has the very worst 21stc track record for the decade leading up to a 2nd lead nom and she's somehow supposed to win lead twice for the sole exceptions to her streak of mediocrity?
And the 3 people right above her are all obvious mega box office queens esp in comedy which would explain why Hollywood would love them. Natalie is...not, with the biggest films in her lifetime being thankless supporting love interest roles.
ETA: The closest on the male side is Will Smith, also a big movie star, but he at least had Enemy of the State/Men in Black/Ali leading up to Pursuit's Oscar nom.
The trailer for Miss Sloane is out and Jessica looks really strong in this film. It's coming out too late to make a play for any major awards but I can see her getting strong reviews for this role and maybe a random GG nom.

political movie and Chastain expected to carry the whole movie on her own? sounds like a box office disaster
This is clearly a smaller made film, so I don't know why you are even bringing up the box office here. Gun control measure is a hot button topic here in the United States, so it's nice to see a movie that actually deals with that topic.
