They need to consider more Asian actors though. Rinko Kikuchi is not enough.
I see that the Best Picture winner at Venice is an Asian one, yet the OP chooses to ignore that and only focus on the white girl who played fake Asian instead.

She's getting nominated obviously, but that's a lie.
Dominique Blanc
Kseniya Rappoport
Ariane Labed
Deanie Ip
Hadas Yaron
Elena Cotta
Alba Rohrwacher
Valeria Golino
are the last 8 Best Actress winners.
Unless you meant "white people in American or British films who win," I guess.

Drag me.
I chose Emma for the title because she's popular on this forum, she's a big factor in Oscar conversation, and because Best Lead Actress is my fave category.
Can someone explain to me the controversy surrounding "Birth of a Nation"?
the director and his co-writer were friends in college, they allegedly raped a girl
Parker was not found guilty because he had sex with her prior to that but his friend (co-writer of the movie) was convicted but later acquitted because a few years after that the victim refused to go to the court again, there are transcripts and proofs of Parker harassing the girl during the lawsuit
she dropped out of college and killed herself in 2012, the movie has a crucial rape scene which starts the whole revolution but it's not even historically accurate
Emma will probably have the "fresh girl" narrative that might lland her an Oscar nomination, but she won't win since Brie won last year. The competition this year will be fierce: Bening, Davis, Chastain, Portman, Adams, etc. This year's actress category will be so exciting
I just KNOW Davis is going to put out the performance of a lifetime, though.
