Fun story: I caught the pre-evo of one of these randomly in Y on my first playthrough and since it was actually Adamant nature, I decided to train it someday so I boxed it and after completing my game, I EV trained it and gave it some moves that seemed good. Rock Slide, U Turn, High Jump Quick and Fake Out. Then I used it competitively and it helped me a LOT in winning countless Battle Spot battles, like seriously at least 150. It's just so useful and outspeeds more pokemon than I would think. And it wasn't even IV-bred or anything special I literally just randomly caught it in my game
are the ones i like. But it wasn't a mess like gen 5. There is just something missing in that gen and i don't know what. Maybe its because it makes every pokemon look very ugly. I mean my love for Charizard grew with X/Y and even my love for gen 5 grew with X/Y lol X/Y recovered pokemon for me so it has a special place for me

Wow. Mienshao should have been my real life pokemon. That is how much i like it. It looks like it is overshadowed by Bisharp but its so much better than him

Y'all only hate on Gen 5 cuz there were so many bad pokemons, but percentage of good mons wise, it's one of the highest.
In fact recently i've begun to think Gen 5 > Gen 6 in terms of design. Ignoring legends ofc. Nothing can top XYZ trio & Volcanion

The only part of this post I find objectionable is the "starting to think" part. Gen 5 >>> 6 EASILY. 6 has like the worst dex ever, it's so small and unlike gen 2 which was also kinda small, there are VERY few great designs to make up for it.
I don't know why we consistently rag on Gen V when we pretty much all agree it was garbage It brought some Kings and Queens but it was so goddamn messy overall.
