You don't multiply it by .05

isn't streaming taking only 5 percent of that formula thing? ..

Yes, that's already accounted for by the fact that 1 point is equal to 55,000 streams. If it the percentage was higher, say 50%, then it would be like 5,500 streams is equal to one point.

Mmm, the points for the top 3 were within about 5 points of each other IIRC and sales + mediabase had GaGa at #2 however she slipped to #3 with on the Hot 100, showing that streaming did make a difference that week. If Bad Romance had of been properly on the official streaming sites then it's very plausible that it could have been #1 that week.

?..really!
well all time i was thinking this way: for example if some one song has 100 mil AI, and 100k downloads and 1,100,000 streams let's just say, it might actually be 100*0.55+100*0.40+(1,100,000/55,000)*0.05 .. = 55 + 40 + 1 ..
another one with 50 mil AI, 250k download and 0 streams will be 50*0.55+250*0.40+0 = 27.5 + 100 + 0..

^ You did made a mess there. Using your hypothetical numbers:
If a song has 100 million AI, it has 100 points
If it sold 100k downloads and/or cd singles, it has 100 points
If it was streamed 1 million times it has 18.18 points (let's say 18 points) - which will never be the case, since the biggest stream have added was like 4-5 points, totalizing: 100 + 100 + 18 = 218
If a song doesn't even have 1k in downloads/cd singles sold, it doesn't even have a full point, if it's 900 downloads, it would be 0.9, same goes for AI if it doesn't have 1 million. Remember that the numbers are never rounded up (so if it's 115,286 downloads/cd singles, it's 115.286 points)....

^ so.. what does "consists of 55 percent of airplay, 40 percent of downloads, and 5 percent of streaming" really say?.. .. if each component is taken with a different weight towards the final number, then these percentages should be multiplied to the corresponding points got (then whatever begotten be added up), shouldn't them?..

No, think of it this way. The percentage is weighted within how much 1 point is worth.
The fact that 1 million airplay audience = 1 point weights 55% to the airplay.
The fact that 1k downloads = 1 point weights 40% to downloads.
If you change the value of 1 point, you change the percentage as well. For example, on Billboard Hot 100 in Canada, 100 downloads = 1 point instead of 1000, and the percentage for downloads there is more like 60-70%.

^ Yes. Seeing that sometimes not even a full point is added to songs, meaning the song video was streamed less than 55,000 times....

Predition:
D + Al = Total
1. Rude Boy = 170.0 + 100.1 = 270.1
2. Nothin On You = 182+ 87.6 = 169.6

Are you saying that if a song is streamed a little over 1,000,000 that it can add 20 points to the calculation that seems too easy

^ It would be. 1 million streams would add up 18 points, since it never happens, we know that Yahoo/AOL doesn't make a damn difference on the charts cause songs/videos there are streamed to 300,000 a week at maximum (that would be 5 points already)...

“Break Your Heart” by Taio Cruz featuring Ludacris tops Hot Digital Songs for the third straight week. The song sold 176,000 downloads this week, bringing its four-week total to 681,000. The gorgeous “Nothin’ On You” by B.O.B. featuring Bruno Mars jumps from #4 to #2, with sales of 166,000 copies this week. The richly melodic song is a “My Cherie Amour” for the hip-hop generation. Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” slips from #2 to #3, with sales of 163,000.
RIHANNA #1 ANOTHER WEEK!!!
