Uptown Funk went #1 in it's 8th week and he never really had a fast starting song himself either. So to me that seems more like people liking the songs and not necessarily the artist, but we'll see.

Do not underestimate him. He's performed at Super Bowl twice and his second album was bigger than his first one, not to mention Uptown Funk happened a year ago. He is like P!nk, they know how to disappear and then come back and smash our favorites.
