Britney literally lip-synced to the CD and got a major boost. If Katy did a really great performance it would have saved the song. Rise has outcharted Make Me every week, if the VMAs can help Make Me it would definitely have helped Rise.
The fact is, we never should have been in this situation of her missing Top 10 in the first place because if they just put it on Spotify first week it would have been like #9 instead of #11.
