It comes from the whole "shipping" culture specifically OTP meaning one true pairing.

OT plus a number just means a particular member line up of a group. Like for example OT4 vs. OT5 f(x).

Fans of "OT5" would prefer the line up with Sulli in the group.

I think that's right but someone can correct me if it isn't (?).

Why did SM say this would be a "vacation" for their artists/staff and then announce the dates AND location where they would be staying

Total waste of money if they actually wanted their artists to relax because that hotel is now a sasaeng paradise and they are being followed everywhere. Knowing SM they probably planned it like this all along.

realistically, this "vacation" is only a PR stunt to show the public and the fans that they "look after" their artists & employees
